Opportunities in Asian Shipping Markets to be Focus for New Broker.
With financial and commodity markets in turmoil, this might not appear to be the most auspicious time to begin a new shipbroking venture. But for Antony Prince, the Bahamas based designer of a range of highly successful bulk-carriers, including the series-built “Fantasy”, “Valiant” and “Trader” vessels, a market of this sort can present many new and interesting possibilities, not only for niche newbuilding opportunities, but also with regard to newbuilding resales, second-hand sale & purchase transactions, and – with his contacts in the field of technical and commercial shipmanagement and finance – support for banks who may suddenly find themselves shipowners by default.
